Particularly in the advanced packaging segment, demand has shifted from 'strong' to 'explosive'," said Galen Zeng, senior research manager at IDC. "At the same time, a new round of U.S. export control policies unexpectedly brought a large number of high-end orders to Taiwan OSAT vendors. Looking ahead to the second half of 2025, the OSAT market is expected to grow by 9.2% to reach US$45.3 billion for the whole year, with strong demand for AI servers and stockpiling needs for new laptop and smartphone launches."
