This IDC study highlights how the landscape of managed SPs for managed cloud services is evolving as players are utilizing different strategies to either maintain leadership or climb the ranks to become the leader in this market."Governance and control while having the capabilities to localize, personalize, and align costs with consumption appear to be central to enterprise use of managed cloud services, all of which are placing pressure on managed SPs to make critical investments that can support these client needs," says David Tapper, program VP, Outsourcing and Managed Cloud Services at IDC. "Ensuring success for managed SPs will require that they develop a road map for skills versus automation, optimize financial management, implement AI strategically, provide business-centric modernization, leverage the strengths in supporting multicloud operations, implement a robust governance structure, create a matrix management function to support use of public cloud providers, and develop an end-to-end risk management function."
