This IDC Market Perspective discusses and reflects on the results of security service provider (SP) interviews that IDC had with security service providers in the latter half of 2023. This process was undertaken to understand the needs of their customers and the market dynamics that are impacting the security services market. Many of the drivers and concerns are consistent, but the perspective changes over time due to increased security threats and recent technologies that are meeting these challenges. "The market for security services continues to grow, and security service providers have no shortage of cyberthreats and cybertools to juggle for clients," said Scott Tiazkun, research manager, Worldwide Security Services at IDC. "Now the emphasis is on outcomes for clients while addressing the needs around tool rationalization and supplying the cybertalent that enterprises lack. Addressing these three issues in an attractively priced cyberservices bundle is key to success and market share."
