The total procurement cost is at the hundred-yuan level. In contrast, mainstream domain controllers today mostly have computing power exceeding 100 TOPS, with procurement costs in the thousands of yuan. Even low-computing domain controllers applied in L2 intelligent driving systems struggle to keep costs below a thousand yuan. Additionally, the forward-looking all-in-one machine solution reduces the cost of separately developing/procuring domain controller software and hardware compared to the forward-looking + domain controller solution.

Forward-looking all-in-one machine for rapid deployment of ADAS functions

The forward-looking all-in-one machine features a compact product design, eliminating the need for significant changes to vehicle structural design. It offers plug-and-play functionality, enabling rapid deployment of ADAS functions and reducing overall project risks during mass production. However, since the forward-looking all-in-one machine is installed on the windshield, its size is limited, making it difficult to integrate multiple modules. As a result, it cannot expand to support advanced intelligent driving functions and struggles to meet the requirements of L2.5 and above functionalities.

In the first ten months of 2024, the total installation volume of forward-looking all-in-one machine exceeded 8.1 million units, with a penetration rate of 45.7%.

From January to October 2024, the installation volume of L2 and above intelligent driving systems for China's passenger cars reached 10.01 million sets, with a penetration rate of 56.4%; the total installation volume of forward-looking all-in-one machine was 8.117 million sets, with a penetration rate of 45.7%.

Forward-looking all-in-one machine has an installation volume of 7.148 million sets, accounting for as high as 95% in the L2 market, while the domain controller accounts for only 6.1% (because a small number of passenger cars are equipped with both forward-looking all-in-one machine and domain controller, the sum of the two is greater than 100%).

Outstanding performance in the passenger car market below RMB 200,000

According to the data analysis of this report, Forward-looking all-in-one machine has a great advantage in the market of vehicles below 200,000 yuan. From January to October 2024, the sales volume of passenger cars below 200,000 yuan equipped with forward-looking all-in-one machine accounted for 41.6%, while the sales volume of domain controller accounted for only 2.8%. The proportion of passenger cars above 350,000 yuan is higher than that of domain controller, mainly because joint venture brands of fuel vehicles, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Toyota, and BMW, have adopted it in large quantities.

2. Foreign suppliers occupy the main market of forward-looking all-in-one machine, and local suppliers have made new breakthroughs in the market

According to the competitive landscape of forward-looking all-in-one machine from January to October 2024, the top 5 suppliers are all foreign-funded enterprises, accounting for a total of 69.0%; the main customers of foreign-funded suppliers are joint venture brand OEMs, such as Toyota, Volkswagen, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, etc., while BYD also has a certain amount of consumption. In 2024, domestic suppliers of forward-looking all-in-one machines achieved significant market breakthroughs:

(1) In January 2024, Hongjing Drive's forward-looking all-in-one machine product IPM2.0 was firstly mass-produced on JAC Refine RF8, followed by Neta L in April. This product utilizes the Horizon J3 chip and features 8MP resolution and a 120° horizontal field of view for visual perception.

(2) In February 2024, iMotion used 1V solution (vision-only technology) to help a leading domestic automaker successfully pass the EU's new GSR regulations certification. The 1V solution (single smart camera) is iMotion's forward-looking all-in-one machine IFC 3.0, which can support intelligent speed assistance (ISA), automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane departure warning (LDW) and other functions.

(3) In September 2024, NavInfo secured a contract with Great Wall Motors to supply intelligent forward-looking control module products (i.e., forward-looking all-in-one machines) based on Horizon chips for some models set for mass production and launch starting in 2024Q4.

In 2024, a large number of local new and old models begin to be equipped with forward-looking all-in-one machine, and adopt products from local suppliers to create economical and practical intelligent driving assistance functions for ordinary consumers.
