This IDC study presents a forecast for the worldwide SOAR and firewall automation market for the 2023-2028 forecast period."Naturally, you cannot help but wonder what GenAI means for SOAR vendors and for firewall automation vendors," observes Chris Kissel, vice president, Security and Trust, IDC. "We just do not know yet whether GenAI is to the greater benefit of existing security automation technologies or if it favors platform providers such as SIEM and extended detection and response (XDR). In addition, public cloud hosts are adding automations and workflow management in such a way that many of the security automation use cases are subsumed as a part of the cloud hosting agreement."
